Save the Date: Elevating Youth Voices Fair
Join us at the Elevating Youth Voices Fair on Saturday, June 1.
Hear directly from the next generation of leaders of our city and our world about how they are leading the way to take on issues like gun violence, homelessness, justice reform, and mental health.
Featuring more than 100 local youth leaders representing over 20 organizations, interactive displays, youth performances, music, art, food, and more!
In 2019, Bright Promises Foundation is celebrating our 150th anniversary with a new specialinitiative to amplify the voices of the people who matter most to us – young people themselves. The Elevating Youth Voices Fair is a free community event hosted on Saturday, June 1 where youth leaders from across Metropolitan Chicago will share they are taking the lead to make a positive impact in their communities. The full afternoon of programming will include youth performances, family-friendly activities, and interactive displays.
Attendees will hear directly from local youth about how they are leading the way to make their communities stronger and safer, taking on issues like gun violence, justice reform, homelessness, and youth mental health.
We know that our youth have so much to contribute to our communities, but far too often, youth voices are not considered or valued. This is especially true for young people growing up in low-income neighborhoods and for young people of color. The Elevating Youth Voices Fair seeks to provide a platform to amplify the voices of youth leaders in Metropolitan Chicago and to invest in the continued development of young people who are working actively to improve their communities.
Youth Leaders will represent the following organizations:
33rd Ward Youth Council, facilitated by North River Commission (NRC)
A Long Walk Home
After School Matters
Alliance of the SouthEast (ASE)
Arab American Action Network (AAAN)
Carole Robertson Center for Learning
The ARK of St. Sabina

Communities United (Voices of Youth in Chicago Education)
